Members who wish to work on their leadership skills begin with the Competent Leadership manual included in the New Member Kit. Once they have completed this manual, they can progress to manuals of the Advanced Leader Programme.
The Competent Leadership manual features 10 projects:
1. Listening and Leadership
2. Critical Thinking
3. Giving Feedback
4. Time Management
5. Planning and Implementation
6. Organizing and Delegating
7. Developing Your Facilitation Skills
8. Motivating People
10. Team Building
The club members serve in various roles (e. g. Toastmaster of the Evening, Table Topic Master, Speech Evaluator, General Evaluator, Timekeeper, Grammarian, Mentor etc.) to complete the projects. An evaluator will give you feedback on each project.
When you finish all of the projects, you are eligible for Competent Leader (CL) recognition. You’ll receive a Competent Leader certificate and, if you wish, the World Headquarters will send your employer a letter about your accomplishment.
