A typical Meeting

Toastmasters meetings around the world follow the same three-part scheme:

  1. Prepared Speeches. Members working on the Toastmasters Communication Track present speeches they prepared to complete a speaking project.
  2. Table Topics. In this part of the meeting, participants not scheduled to speak are called to present a one-to-two minute impromptu talk.
  3. Evaluations. We provide all speakers with constructive and positive feedback on their performance.

At Black Forest Toastmasters, the agenda of a normal meeting looks as follows:

18:45 Arrival
19:00 Explanation of Program and Roles
19:20 Prepared Speeches
19:45 Break
20:00 Table Topics Session
20:30 Evaluations
21:00 Close of Meeting

As a guest, you are welcome to just watch. There is no obligation for you to speak, at all.

We sometimes invite guests to participate in the Table Topic session. If your name is called, see for yourself whether you feel up to the challenge. If you’d prefer to pass, just say so.
